Smartwatch App Design Guidelines & Antipatterns
Zuri provides guidelines and anti-patterns with clear examples, recommendations and use cases to aid Interaction Designers to create a better Smartwatch Android Wear App experience.
Why?
Wearable technology has had a constant growth on the past two years. During the present year, companies have been investing on creating their own Wearable Smartwatch, most of them developed under the platform Android Wear OS. The Smartwatch experience introduces a completely different interaction paradigm and use cases, greatly diverging from the web and mobile experiences.
Interaction designers have used guidelines and heuristics to stay on the right path while designing for devices, platforms and channels. Still, when designing for new ones, challenges are faced, since there are no guidelines and heuristics, or the existing ones are not mature enough.
Interaction designers are now bound to face the struggles of designing for an immature technology: Smartwatches.
